Research Guide
Selank
The Russian-developed anxiolytic research compound — calming without sedation or dependence.
Overview
Selank is a synthetic research compound analogue of tuftsin developed by the Russian Institute of Molecular Genetics. It is researched as an anxiolytic and nootropic with effects comparable to benzodiazepines but without sedation, cognitive impairment or dependence.
Mechanism of action
Selank modulates GABA expression, increases BDNF, and influences monoamine neurotransmitter balance. Studies show anxiolytic effects comparable to medazepam.
Reference range (research literature)
Intranasal protocols (most common): 250–500mcg per dose, 2–3 times daily. Subcutaneous research uses similar daily totals.
Half-life
Very short systemically (minutes), but downstream effects persist for hours.
Reconstitution
For intranasal use, reconstitute the 10mg vial with 2ml bacteriostatic water — each 0.1ml = 500mcg. Use a nasal spray applicator.
Comparisons
vs Semax
Semax is more stimulating and nootropic; Selank is more anxiolytic and calming.
vs Benzodiazepines
No dependence or withdrawal has been reported in Selank literature.
